“Andrew Bass is excellent teacher. I always see him as a great mentor. It’s easy to find good designers but it’s difficult to find great designers who can also break down design/creative process step by step guiding students through rough ideas/concept, research, execution, to a pristine comp (and presentation).” — Maxine Lin, Graphic Designer at NASDAQ

Creative. Comic Geek. Storyteller
Always a creative thinker as a child, I was destined to be a storyteller. I have spent over twenty years honing my award-winning creativity in the areas of identity design, publication + book design, promotion + marketing collateral, digital design and creative strategy. During this time, I have led various art departments at companies like Essence Communications, McGraw-Hill, CMP Media and Nielsen Business Media.
Past and present clientele of my freelance consultancy have included Jill Scott's Blues Babe Foundation, Screen Consultants, B.V., Urban League Long Island + Philadelphia,
HeartShare Human Services of NY, as well as the Port Authority of NY/NJ.
Currently, I’m the Art & Production Manager at RIMS, however, I take on select freelance projects as well as one or two pro-bono assignments throughout the year. Just reach out and let’s see how to sync our schedules.

Paying It Forward
I’ve always believed in sharing my knowledge with the next generation of designers and have been an Adjunct Lecturer at NYC College of Technology on and off since 2005, a past participant in the AIGA Mentor program with the HS of Art and Design and having been the former Chair of the AIGA Diversity + Inclusion Task Force.
Visit my digital journal, The Industry Color, where I share musings about graphic design and other creative worlds with a special eye towards designers of color.
